A cordless battery powered edger is a nice tool to have in your collection of yard tools. It's ease in handling and light weight make using this tool easy enough for any one to use.
Edging your yard can seem like a waste of time but in reality it's one of the most important and over looked parts of lawn care. It's kind of like getting a hair cut but your hair is still hanging down in your eyes, it doesn't look neat until it is trimmed.
One advantage of a cordless battery powered edger is that there is no gas to use so you can save money by not having to buy gas. Also with a gas powered edger most have you mix oil with the gas so here is another money saving reason. Going green is a big deal and with a battery operated edger you will be helping protect the environment.
Now take a look at mobility. With a corded electric edger you have to drag an extension cord around every where you move. This can cause the cord to get tangled around bushes, trees or any other obstacle in your yard. With a cordless battery powered edger you walk right to the spot you need to edge with no problems and get right to work.
As with any cordless battery powered tool I suggest getting a extra battery so when your using one you have one on standby when the battery your using goes dead. There are many different brands out for sale of this tool. Check different ads for deals and go to tool forums to hear what others have to say about the brand your interested in buying. Pick the one your comfortable with and start making yard work easier and more enjoyable

Worx wg103- A Great Cordless Yard Tool
The worx wg103 cordless yard tool is a great tool for anybody that's looking for a easy to handle and durable tool. It is designed so any one could use it.
The first thing that caught my eye about the worx wg103 was that it is 2 cordless yard tools in 1. It is a trimmer that can easily convert to a edger. This will cut your work time in half because you will be able to trim and edge in the same spot instead of having to stop and go and get the other tool to finish in a area.
The second function of the worx wg103 that caught my eye was the way the head turned to get into hard to reach spots. Most cordless yard tools can't get to places like under decks or some other places that make it hard to reach.
The worx wg103 also is powered by a 18v lithium battery. You will have plenty of power and the battery lasts for a long time saving you time, since you won't have to carry a extension cord or stop to fill with gas as you would with other cordless yard tools.
The worx wg103 also has easy to change cutting string spools. You can change them out in seconds. Unlike other cordless yard tools where it always seems easy to change until you actually try to change them out.
In my opinion the worx wg103 is a fantastic cordless yard tool that everybody should have in their tool collection.

Basic Yard and Garden Tools List
This is a list of commonly used yard and garden tools. For those that maintain their own yard, you will probably say that all the tools listed are already in your garage or backyard shed. The list was developed for first time home owners wanting to care for their own lawn and garden. This should provide them with the basics- enough to begin normal lawn maintenance. On the other hand, it may be enough of a warning to help them decide that they do not want to tackle what seems to be never ending task of lawn care.
To prevent this article from sounding like an advertisement, I will not list any lawn and garden maintenance companies for those that prefer not to purchase all the necessary yard and garden tools. After factoring in the time, manual labor plus the cost of the tools, there will no doubt be some drop outs for the do it yourself lawn maintenance program.
For those of you that want to go join the club and go forward with caring for your lawn, you may notice none of the tools have related prices. There are several reasons. Mainly the prices can change at anytime and I simply cannot keep up with them all. You can get pricing while shopping for the tools. I recommend that you do that anyway.
Basic Yard and Garden Tools List
Gloves
Rake
Hoe
Shovel
Spade
Trowel
Pruner
Pruning Saw
Sprinkler
Garden Hose
Lawn Mower
Edger
Weedeater - gas or electric
Blower - gas or electric
Fertilizer Spreader
Wheelbarrow
Hedge Shears
Tank Sprayer
Hammer
Heavy Duty Extension Cord
Again, this is not an all inclusive list of yard and garden tools. It does cover most of the basic tools necessary for regular lawn maintenance. While many home owners have acquired a large number of other gardening tools over the years, the basic list here should be enough for the average startup home gardening and lawn care maintenance project.
The benefit of shopping for the tools yourself is that you can find the best prices. An additional benefit is that you will learn more about each tool and its respective manufacturer. So, review them all. Whether searching locally or on the internet, you will learn about quality and prices. Both will help you determine the right yard and garden tools for your lawn care needs.

Electric Lawn Mowers Can Be an Easy Choice
Consumers today are being more and more conscience of their environmental surroundings when deciding what types of merchandise to buy. When it comes to lawn and garden equipment, electric tools can be a better fit for those who are concerned about environmental hazards. However, many people are skeptical about purchasing electric garden equipment because they are afraid that they will sacrifice quality, power, or speed. Electric Lawn mowers probably receive the most scrutiny of all of the equipment as they require longevity, power, and sometimes speed to get the job done in a timely, efficient manner. There are many advantages to using a lawn mower powered by electricity.
One prime advantage of an electric lawn mower is the fact that you do not have to continually purchase gas and oil to power and maintain your machine. Worrying about messy oil changes and pre-winter gas siphoning are gone, not to mention having to wonder how you will dispose of the hazardous liquids that you are removing. Another part of maintenance that is removed when you use an electric mower are changing spark plugs and air filters. So, in short, by switching to an electric mower saves you in the long run on expenses like gasoline, oil, air filters, and spark plugs, not to mention the mess that is created by maintaining, removal, and disposal of such items.
There many different manufacturers of electric lawn mowers including Black and Decker, Remington, and Neuton. All of these companies offer high end mowers that can compare to conventional gasoline powered mowers. The mowers can be corded, cordless, and rechargeable battery powered. The cordless battery powered mowers are especially good for those who are maintaining larger yards. Electric mowers are much quieter, and lighter in overall weight then gas mowers.
The biggest concern about choosing electric lawn mowers over a gas mower is the sacrifice of power. When it comes to cutting grass, power behind the blade is probably the most important feature in a lawn mower, so that concern is warranted. The manufacturers of electric mowers insist that power has not been sacrificed in order to provide an environmentally friendly, light, and quiet way to maintain your yard.
